There is lots of advice available on reducing the impact of house improvements on the environment. We offer some products that will help.
We have loose-fill thermal insulation from recycled paper. It is mineral-treated against vermin and fire. Very thermally efficient and easy to lay.
Eco-paints from Biofa, for whom we are the Scottish-based agent - using only renewable raw materials, including solvent-free emulsions, silicate paints, primers, fixatives, undercoat, satin and gloss, plus priming oil and hard oil to enhance and protect bare wood.
Eco paint and varnish stripper.
Compost bins, volume of 220 litres, ideal for the back garden.
Elegant, stacking, bins to separate out your household recycling items - for example one for paper, one for plastic, one for glass.
Huge range of carpet tiles by Heuga - a company dedicated to sustainable development. Carpet tiles have the advantage that any damage means replacing just one tile, not the whole carpet. These tiles include "cool carpet" which is carbon-neutral. Some lines have high recycled content. Lay it yourself and just use your imagination to mix and cut tiles into any personalised colour pattern.
And then we have various profiles of Plaswood for DIY construction - square, rectangular, round, and planking, up to 3m in length. Also some brightly coloured planks - red, green, yellow, blue. Plaswood is recycled plastic made in Scotland; use it exactly like wood but all the traditionally bad aspects of plastic are turned to good effect. It doesn't split, it doesn't warp, it doesn't have knots, it never rots, it doesn't ever need painting, and you can recycle it again. Costs a bit more to start with but you get the cost back many times over. Ideal for outdoor constructions.
Wind-up hand torch and head torch.
Battery chargers and rechargeable batteries (various sizes).
